COI Track - Validate/Verify Incoming Certification

Currently if a user inputs a certification, there is a secondary step of verifying the certificate before it gets fully added. if the vendor responds to a request for submission, there is no secondary step of verifying needed.

In case there are discrepancies or errors that come with the vendor submitted certificate, it would be nice to have the option to review the vendor's certificate and verify it.

Worked through the details of this and have determined the following:

    1. Required Fields - Confusion around the proper way to create Certificates of Insurance is caused by the fact that there is not a requirement to add a certificate at the time of creation. There may be business cases around keeping this as an optional field (such as if clients wanted to maintain their certificates in paper form, while using the system to initiate workflows). In any case, the client was prepping certificate forms in anticipation of certificates being received, thereby creating duplicates of the data in the system.
    2. No Clear Process Flow - There are many moving parts to eventually being able to track a certificate of insurance. All of the instructions, whether in the online training, or in the help documents, address individual tasks without providing a higher level overview of the steps needed to create and then track the Certificate of Insurance.

With regard to the particular client's request for validating the incoming certificate, it has been determined that she was actually using the application in a way in which it was not designed. This caused the disconnect with what she needed and what she was seeing. I have provided her with the  proper steps to take to complete the process of receiving a certificate and creating the associated form for tracking.

From this, I believe this issue can be closed.

I see now. thank you. This should already work this way. I will submit as a maintenance issue.

Maybe I didn't state it clearly.

When the client submits, yes, it goes into the "Pending status" and needs to be verified.

When the client requests a certificate from a vendor, and the vendor responds, it does not go into a pending status. It is just received. They are asking for a secondary step  that when the vendor submits, it go into a pending status to review what the vendor has submitted.

The entire Certificate Submissions page is "pending". After they are reviewed and accepted they are removed from that page.

Jade, yes, they are viewable, but what she is asking is for them to fall into a "pending" state, just as if she had entered, and for them to have to be verified instead of just being able to be viewed.

Kenneth, there actually is a secondary step to review. All certificates submitted by the vendor are viewable in the Certificate submissions page under Manage Certificates.
