I could have sworn I suggested this months ago, but now I can't find it.
All of our different environments (local, QA1, QA2, UAT, LIVE) look identical. We use a gray color scheme. Set purple for QA1, orange for QA2, and teal in UAT so that it is immediately obvious which environment you are acting in.
This will not only prevent me from wasting time testing in the wrong environment, but will also potentially prevent an admin user from making unintentional client-facing changes in the LIVE environment
I solved this for myself in the Firefox and Chrome browsers by using the Stylish browser extension and a custom CSS script. The script is available for anyone to use. This is a stop-gap and will only help users that think to install it before they make a mistake, and then only in half of our supported browsers.
Pleeeeeease!
